Corné Muilwijk obtained an MSc degree in Chemical Engineering at Delft University of Technology (the Netherlands) in 2014. He then completed a PhD on bubbly flows at the University of Limerick in Ireland, where he developed experimental and analytical skills, including image acquisition and processing, and laser based measurement techniques.
After his PhD, he worked a Postdoctoral researcher in Dublin City University, where he worked on a heat pump model characterising flow and temperatures. He was soon appointed as an Assistant Professor in Sustainability in Dublin City University in June 2021, where he was teaching subjects in thermodynamics and turbomachinery and leading research on hydrogen formation from electrodes. He now works for EirGrid as a Senior Engineer HVDC Interconnection responsible for the optimisation of the use of the Celtic Interconnector and European market integration.
