Dr James Carton, the Chair of Hydrogen Ireland recently made an address at the ‘Climate Targets and Energy Security-Lets Talk Hydrogen’ webinar on April 20, 2022.
The event covered community energy, renewable energy backup and the question of fossil fuel industry plans.
Dr Carton said the real question for transition is what the energy carrier is going to be, what energy carried is suitable for each country. The future will be electrication and our energy carrier needed for heavy industry can be hydrogen. Green hydrogen is the solution for an energy carrier and that is coming from government departments too maintains Dr Carton. Society needs to come with this and we need to say to policymakers to invest In our future. Technology we can use in 30 years time is essential, Dr Carton argues we need to build sustainable and to build once.
