The Chair of Hydrogen Ireland Dr James Carton from DCU was speaking in the Oireachtas on (March 1, 2022) to the Joint Committee on Environment and Climate Action. In the session, ‘Engagement relating to Energy, ambition and challenges’, Dr Carton was speaking with regard to accelerating and achieving full potential for offshore wind resource and hydrogen. We know how to decarbonise he stressed and there is a necessary role for green hydrogen in Ireland. A hydrogen strategy can enable policy development and guide investment NOW. We need to stimulate demand for hydrogen and there needs to be a focus on hydrogen valleys according to Dr Carton
